Scarlett Johansson’s final outing as Black Widow in the 2021 MCU flick Black Widow was supposed to be much darker before Marvel Studios decided to pull the plug on that storyline.

Ray Winstone, the actor who portrayed the villainous role of General Dreykov in the movie, revealed to Variety that he had to undergo reshoots because the original scenes involving him and the Black Widows were much darker.

I worked with this amazing director, Cate Shortland, and we worked on what my character was going to be. He was like a pedophile running around all these girls, and they’d become Black Widows.

He continued,

We used to get applauded on set. It was probably the best thing I’ve done for a really long time.
