Christopher Nolan's beloved World War II epic is roared past in "Jurassic World Rebirth."

Even though Jurassic World Rebirth has essentially concluded its theatrical run as the lowest-grossing installment of the reboot series, the bar was so high for it to succeed that it has still ended up becoming one of the 100 highest-grossing movies of all time.
Rebirth has grossed $332 million at the domestic box office so far, having overtaken one of the most divisive superhero epics ever made, as well as the highest-grossing World War II movie of all time.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rebirth is supposed to start a new trilogy of movies, after the Jurassic World trilogy headlined by Chris Pratt came to a conclusion a couple of years ago.
Rebirth's $332 million lifetime domestic haul puts it ahead of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, both of which made $330 million in their respective theatrical runs.
Batman v Superman debuted in 2016, while Oppenheimer was famously released alongside Greta Gerwig's Barbie in 2023.
Both movies were hot favorites at the Academy Awards, where Oppenheimer ended up winning in the Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Actor categories.
Based on the life and times of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is described as the father of the atomic bomb, the movie ended its theatrical run with over $975 million worldwide.

It will presumably become Nolan's third film to pass the coveted $1 billion mark worldwide following future re-releases.
Nolan already has two films in this elite club—The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
Each of the three Pratt-led Jurassic World movies also passed the $1 billion mark globally, with the first Jurassic World grossing over $1.6 billion.
The new film's running global haul stands at $828 million, which puts it ahead of another Nolan movie: Inception.
Starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, Rebirth opened to mixed reviews and appears to have settled at a 51% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film entered pre-production even before Edwards had been hired, because the studio wanted to retain control of the project and not give too much freedom to the director.
The previous trilogy had witnessed declining returns not just commercially, but also critically.
Nolan is now putting together his new epic, an adaptation of The Odyssey, starring an A-list cast headlined by Matt Damon.
